The crucial roles of forests in addressing climate change and conserving biodiversity in Papua New Guinea
— Ambassador Jacques Fradin, Head of Delegation to PNG
The EU-FCCB Programme is a cooperation programme funded by the European Union and established in partnership with the Government of Papua New Guinea, represented by the Department of National Planning and Monitoring (DNPM). It is the European Union's largest environmental programme in the Pacific Islands region. The Programme has three components managed by three implementing partners: Expertise France, FAO, and CIFOR-ICRAF.
1. Effective implementation of evidence-based forestry, climate change, and biodiversity (FCCB) policies, governance, and institutional frameworks.
2. Increase knowledge and awareness of FCCB-related issues among the PNG population.
3. Increase inclusive and gender-responsive green public and private sector investments and deforestation-free livelihoods.
